Professional communications with heart

I have been fortunate to work in a range of sectors and disciplines over the years.

What my experiences have in common is the opportunity to raise awareness of something important and influence change.

If you're looking, we should talk!

Say something that matters

The challenge of reaching every voter in the 2025 federal election period

Twelve million copies of Your Official Guide to the 2025 Federal Election designed, printed and delivered to every home before early voting opened. Phew!

Are nature journallers on the front line of nature conservation? Discuss.

As President of the Australian Nature Journalling Association, I was proud to bring 70 people together in May 2026 to learn, draw and write about nature in stunning location near Hobart.

Writing on legal issues

As managing editor of the Law Council Review, I wrote feature articles and other content on the legal issues of the day with input from inhouse legal experts.

Giving mining companies another way to see landscape

I established this mining magazine in a publishing partnership and promoted ideals on social licence to operate and ways of seeing a site for artistic and natural values.

COVID lockdowns in aged care changed everything

This major disruptor in aged care was the catalyst for using every available channel to show the community how services adapted to protect seniors' health and (their wellbeing.

Turning big beautiful data into understanding

Ground-breaking technology combining location data with satellite imagery in 2015: Show real-world use scenarios. Challenge accepted.

Editing memoirs of motor cycle journeys

I loved editing and proofreading this hard cover book by Hendrik Gout (award winning journalist and Motto Guzzi tragic). Published by Wakefield Press.

No report is too big or gnarly

I specialise in restructuring and editing large documents to make a coherent and compelling narrative. Research, annual reports, tenders, submissions ... bring it on!

The federal AMA was mentioned by media 360 times in a week.

COVID-19 and the vaccine roll out were of great public interest. I was part of AMA's busy media team and also managed the newsletter AMA Rounds, summing up each week's rapidly-evolving developments.

Drawing attention to student needs

Make it interesting and the journalists will come. As they did in response to public debate on special assistance schools and 'school refusal' after the pandemic lockdowns.

My journalism on public health issues

My early SA career included freelance journalism articles on public health published by Independent Weekly and the AMA(SA).

Jagungal: 50 years of stories

I compiled, edited, designed and printed 400 copies of this little slice of snowy mountains history. This 94-page curation tells the story of people coming together to build a ski lodge and club in a spot better known for the Snowy Hydro.

More than one way to tell a story

This cheeky expression of 2023 politics was shortlisted for the Bald Archy prize and sold while on tour.

Teaching ethics to children

For 8 years, I have been a volunteer ethics teacher with Primary Ethics in NSW primary schools. I cannot think of anything more important or rewarding.
